Terms of Use
End User Licence Agreement (EULA) · Last updated 24 September 2026
Plain version: use Tutorboard to teach, don't abuse it, keep your account details safe, and the lessons and files you create are yours. Subscriptions renew every month until you cancel, and you can cancel any time. The full terms are below.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are the End User Licence Agreement between you and Solo Bay LTD, trading as Tutorboard ("Tutorboard", "we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 17415499, registered office Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom), governing your use of the Tutorboard apps for macOS and iPadOS, the Tutorboard website, and the services behind them (together, the "Service"). By downloading or using the app, or by creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service and your licence
Tutorboard provides a shared whiteboard, video call, calculators, and lesson-recording tools for one-to-one tutoring. Students join a lesson from a link without creating an account. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Tutorboard app on devices you own or control, and to use the Service, for as long as these Terms and (where the feature requires one) your subscription remain in force. The app is licensed to you, not sold. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute it, remove its notices, or reverse-engineer, decompile or modify it except to the limited extent applicable law says you may despite this restriction. Where you obtained the app from the App Store, your licence is also subject to the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
2. Your account
You sign in with Sign in with Apple or with your email address. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@tutorboard.tech if you believe your account has been misused. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to hold a tutor account.
3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing
- Free trial. New tutors get a 14-day free trial with every feature. Nothing is charged during the trial, and if you cancel before it ends you pay nothing.
- Plans and prices. After the trial, continued use of the tutor features requires a paid plan: Base at £4.99 a month (up to 20 students, boards saved as files on your own computer, no cloud backup) or Premium at £9.99 a month (unlimited students, cloud backup, reliable video on restricted networks, lesson reports). Base is sold in the apps only; in a browser there are no files on your own machine to save to, so the web sells Premium only. A parent's access to their child's saved boards and recordings is £5 a month; lesson titles and dates are always free. Prices are in pounds sterling and include any tax due.
- Automatic renewal. Every subscription is a monthly auto-renewing subscription. It renews for a further month, at the price above, at the end of each period unless you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep what you have paid for until the period ends.
- Paying through Apple. If you subscribe inside the app, payment is taken by Apple through your Apple ID and Apple's terms also apply. Your Apple ID is charged when the free trial ends, and on each renewal, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's policies and your local consumer rights.
- Paying on the web. If you subscribe at app.tutorboard.tech, Solo Bay LTD is the seller and payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Your statement will show TUTORBOARD.TECH. Cancel any time from the billing portal linked in your account or in any billing email, and write to us for a refund.
- Changes. We may change plan prices or features on reasonable notice. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and a price rise takes effect only from a renewal after you have been told.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- harass, abuse, or harm another person, including any student or tutor;
- share content you do not have the right to share, or that infringes someone's rights;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- record a lesson without the consent of the student (and, where the student is a minor, their parent, guardian or school), or share a recording unlawfully;
- resell or redistribute the Service without our permission.
We may suspend or end access that breaches these rules.
Where the Service is available. Tutorboard is not offered, sold, or supported in, to, or from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or the Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine, or to any person or entity subject to UK, EU, US or UN sanctions. By subscribing you confirm that you are not located in, ordinarily resident in, or acting on behalf of anyone in those territories, and that you will not use the Service to deliver or receive lessons there. We may refuse or end access, and cancel a subscription, where we believe this clause is being breached.
5. Your content
Whatever you draw, write, upload, or record in a lesson is yours. We do not claim ownership of it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to relay lesson content live between tutor and student while a lesson is running, and, if you use Premium cloud backup, to store the whiteboards you save in your private account so we can sync them back to you. Recordings and files you save are stored on your own device; managing your content is your responsibility.
6. Availability and "as is"
We work to keep the Service reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that lessons will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a peer-to-peer call will always connect on every network.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
8. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as content ownership and liability) will continue to apply.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update this page and the "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law where you live provides otherwise.
11. Apple
Where you obtained the app from Apple's App Store, this section applies and prevails over anything inconsistent above:
- These Terms are between you and Solo Bay LTD only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. Support is ours: email hello@tutorboard.tech.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Any other claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty is ours, not Apple's.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party about the app, including product liability, any failure to conform to legal requirements, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, on your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
